"On the Path to Excellence
... The Campaign for Sinai"
New England Sinai Hospital
is already recognized by many medical professionals as an
outstanding medical provider; so well recognized that the
patient demand for our pulmonary services has grown dramatically.
However, we have facility, technology and program needs
that are lagging behind our growth pace. With health
care costs continually increasing, reimbursements decreasing,
and medical advances requiring ongoing investments, hospital
reserves can not provide all the necessary funds for essential
upgrades and acquisitions. As such, investment through
charitable contributions by donors will be required for
us to continue on our path to excellence. Over
the next 18 to 24 months, our goal is to raise a minimum
of $6 million. This will require that the community
provide their philanthropic support and commitment as they
have in the past.

- Transition to private patient rooms for the safety,
privacy and comfort of our patient, family and caregivers.
- Expand the capacity of our Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Program to accommodate 250 patients annually, up from
our current capacity of 125.
- Renovate an adjacent space within the hospital to expand
space for the Sleep Disorders Program which has
already reached its maximum capacity.
- Achieve underwriting to help defray the increasing costs
of the pulmonary clinical education program, (which runs
in excess of $220,000 each year).
- Sinai’s Pulmonary Research Institute
has been breaking new ground in clinical research related
to pulmonary disease and rehabilitation. With the
addition of a full time research assistant and additional
funding, prospective research can be implemented.
