The
New England Sinai Hospital Foundation’s mission is
to raise funds to support patient care at New England Sinai
Hospital. We are honored to have a dedicated core group
of Trustees whose volunteerism, activism and support of
Sinai through their support of the Foundation perpetuates
the vision of our forefathers.
There are number of critical reasons why philanthropy
through the Foundation is important to Sinai’s future
as we have facility, technology and program needs that are
lagging behind our growth pace. Philanthropy is especially
important with health care costs continually increasing,
reimbursements decreasing and medical advances requiring
ongoing investments.
Why
Should You Contribute?
Patients and their families also agree that Sinai is among
the best. When John Machado’s father was hospitalized
here, he became a firm believer in our commitment to excellence
and the value of our staff. “If I were to name the
top three things about the Sinai, it would be the people,
the people, the people.” John feels that “none
compare to New England Sinai” and he is “forever
grateful” for making “a world of difference.”
With over 80 years of providing excellent medical care,
we continue to focus on being the region’s preferred
choice for long-term acute care. This includes investments
in technological and infrastructure improvements that will
provide patients, families, staff and visitors a modern
clinical setting with advanced capabilities. However our
ability to make these significant investments will depend
on the philanthropic commitment and generosity of our supporters.
Ways
of Giving
Your appreciated pledge can be made online
by clicking the button below:

• Annual Fund: Our Annual Fund supports
patient care at New England Sinai Hospital. Your contributions
to the Annual Giving Program are unrestricted, allowing
the Foundation to use them where they are needed most. Whether
it goes towards purchasing a critical medical device or
upgrading technology, your contribution makes a difference!
• Reoccurring Gifts: If you truly
value and appreciate the importance of continuing your philanthropic
support to Sinai, we welcome your reoccurring gifts. These
gifts can be done by Master Card or Visa on a monthly, quarterly,
or yearly basis for an indefinite time period. Reoccurring
or monthly gifts are especially important as they enable
us to count on a continuous source of revenue.
• Gifts in Honor or in Memory of Individual:
Tribute gifts are a wonderful way to recognize
a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, birth,
or other notable life event. Or like many Sinai patients
and their families you may make your gift in recognition
of the excellent care given by a physician, nurse or other
caregiver. You can also remember loved ones, friends or
colleagues by making a tribute gift in their memory. A personalized
card will be mailed to the person or family you designate
to let them know of your thoughtful gift.
• The Tree of Life: Sculpted in
bronze and mounted on the wall overlooking the main lobby,
the Tree of Life holds hundreds of leaves on its branches.
Each leaf is inscribed with the name of a Sinai supporter,
patient or family member. The Tree of Life is a focal point
for guests entering the lobby. It captures their attention
and serves as a testament to the care provided to those
who seek the specialized medical and rehabilitation services
offered to Sinai patients. We look forward to welcoming
you as a Golden Patron when you add an inscribed leaf to
the Tree of Life with a contribution of $750. Your support
as a Golden Patron will create a lasting tribute that enables
New England Sinai to help those who need us most.
• The Dr. Moses Stone Society: A
bequest in your will to New England Sinai Hospital can be
a part of your Estate plan. It can be a dollar amount or
a specified percent of your estate or a bequest could be
a remainder of your estate after gifts are made to family
or friends. If you have named New England Sinai Hospital
as a beneficiary in your will, please notify the Sinai Foundation
to be included as a member of the Dr. Moses Stone Society.
Dr. Stone, along with four dedicated women, founded New
England Sinai Hospital in 1927 when it was first known as
the Jewish Tuberculosis Sanatorium.
• Other Ways of Giving: In addition
to making an outright monetary contribution, you can support
New England Sinai Hospital in a variety of other ways that
may actually have tax saving implications.
• (This is not intended to be legal
or tax advice and you are encouraged to consult with your
financial, legal or tax advisor prior to making a gift):
• Charitable Gift Annuity: If
you transfer cash or marketable securities to Sinai
in exchange for a current income tax deduction and the
Sinai’s promise to make fixed annual payments
to you for life.
• Charitable Lead Trust (CLT): This
option pays income to New England Sinai over a set period
of time and the remainder reverts to the donor or other
named beneficiaries.
• Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT):
Some individuals’ goal is to give assets to Sinai
while retaining interest income from the property for
their benefit or their named beneficiaries. The CRT
can result in an income, gift or estate tax deduction.
• Securities: There are distinct
tax advantages to considering gifts of appreciated securities
such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds.
• Tangible Personal Property: Gifts
of personal property qualify for a charitable deduction
equal to the appraised value, provided the item donated
is directly related to the mission of New England Sinai
Hospital.
• Matching Gifts: Numerous
businesses and companies have matching gift programs
through which they will match an employee’s charitable
gift in varying amounts. Donors are urged to obtain
their employer's matching gift forms and leverage their
own gifts.
• Life Insurance: If your whole
life insurance policy is fully paid, New England Sinai
could be named as a beneficiary in either the primary
or secondary position. This may allow you to avoid Probate
with such a gift.
